Burger Bar, Round 2 3/5 (looloo)

 Back!

I learned a lesson the hard way. The name of the place is Burger Bar. Not, Chicken Sandwich Bar.
I ordered the Spicy Crispy Chicken 'Wich. The taste was okay, but I would have gotten 2 Zingers for the price of 210 pesos and go out with twice the satisfaction. 3/5

Blanca R got the cheeseburger for 195 and it was glorious! 4/5
Next time, burger na uli ako :)

We're back!!! Blanca R and I went with Kirby G and our friends from our former office.

We ordered:

Torched Salmon - this dish jumped straight to the top of best salmon dishes I've ever had. This will probably share the spot with the finest sashimi i can ever find. Seriously, this thing melted in my mouth! You don't even need to have a set of teeth to enjoy this, imagine that! Definitely, 5/5

Beef Rendang - they ran out of Lamb so we had beef instead. The rice and the beef rendang were already good. The sous vide egg raised it to another level of awesomeness! It is really hard to choose between the salmon and this dish! 5/5

*check out the NSFW #foodPorn pic

I recommend that you eat with someone when dining here so that you can order these 2 dishes and share with each other.

Of course, we ordered the Dark Chocolate Earl Grey Cheesecake Ice Cream with Milk Crumbs *whew* to end our meal. 5/5 as always :)

Cukay's Cupcakes 2/5 (looloo)

I am a HUGE fan of Alfajor and also a fan of Cukay's Cupcakes.

Sadly, they did not deliver on this one. The biscuit part is too thick and chewy, the yema part was as thin as PNoy's hair (pero parang makapal from the outside).

Not worth the P120. I still prefer the ones from Baguio over this.

The poster outside for this sandwich looks far more appetizing than what I got.

The ad made it seem like the chicken fillet is bathing in chipotle sauce while my sandwich had hardly any sauce in it.

The chicken fillet reminds me of a KFC Zinger without the spicy kick. Had I not added cheese and egg (not runny, boo), this sandwich would have lacked character and taste.

I paid 232 pesos for a sandwich that would have been just okay for 120, boo!
Go get a Zinger, instead.

My friends have been raving about this place for quite some time and their ig and fb posts, including their looloo reviews, finally convinced me to give this burger joint a try.

Let's be clear. I love my burgers. I am not a fan of patties with too much spices or extenders in them - it gets in the way of pure beefgasm.

Before Burger Bar, Cable Car's burgers are tops in my book. After trying the Hangover burger with 1/3lb patty, Burger Bar shares the #1 spot on my list :)

Perfect medium-cooked patty, runny egg yolk, delicious crispy prosciutto bits, with the right amount of sauce (not overpowering) = Game over!

The burger also goes perfectly with the truffle fries and lemonade!

I've seen some bad reviews because of the price. You see, burgers like these are the ones that you eat when you're celebrating, feeling lonely, trying to get over an ex, stressed, or even contemplating suicide. Worth every peso in every bite!

Kung normal na gutom lang at burger ang hanap mo, go to a fast food instead :) (Jollibee Champ, sulit!)

Susmaryosep! Yanung sarap ai!

I went here with my future in-laws and the whole fam for Blanca R and I's non-traditional pamamanhikan-tinghun hybrid, haha!

Here's what we ordered:

Tofu Tinapa Rolls - this was a hit! Perfect balance between the two main flavors! 4.5/5

Healdsburg's (Harvest?) - we loved the dressing and the generous amount of greens and nuts! 4.5/5

Beer battered Fish and Chips - it was just okay. 3/5

Roast Pork and Chicken - meat was tender but the flavors of the other elements in the plate were kinda confusing. 3/5

For the highlight...

Lorenzo Truffle Cream Pasta and Steak... (photo above)
I know, I know. This pairing has always been the recommendation of many reviewers and it is for a reason! We've been going to Mamou for this culinary royal couple for years now. 5/5

If you haven't tried these two, wth are you waiting for?! Also, have the steak medium rare. Worth every peso!

It's that time of the year again where Spring rolls out their mooncake collection. I was a little bit disappointed, okay, quite disappointed that they did not bring back the Durian flavor :( I'm telling you, that mooncake flavor is the best sh*t evarr!

Moving on, I'm happy that they brought back the second best flavor - Almond Salted Caramel Truffle :)

If you'll take a closer look at the photo, you can see how sexy the condensed milk-tasting thing oozes out of the chocolate shell...
I mean, it's like the mooncake just had an org*sm! I'm not kidding! You think I don't have class and can do better at describing the experience? Go ahead, I dare you! Buy this awesome mooncake and bite the sh*t out of it and you'll understand what I'm yapping about ;) 5/5
