Manila - Mom's Birthday: Kasal ni Ahya James (Sweet Bella, Century Hotel)

Two weeks ago, my family and I celebrated the birthday of the woman that I love most, my Mom. For the first part of the 2-day celebration, we went to Sweet Bella in BGC for 2 reasons - First one is because we've heard good things about their food (not just their dessert selections), and second, may coupon ako worth 2,000 pesos booyah!

We went there around 10pm when most of the yuppies that frequent the area are already chugging Hoegaarden. Good for us, we were seated right away :) We came straight from Lucena that's why dinner was this late.

Anyway, pagpasok namin sa loob, para akong inaakit ng mga desserts at talagang muntik na akong madala at magskip na ng dinner straight to dessert haha!

Before I start eating like there's no tomorrow, siyempre dapat i-check ang banyo kung "safe"

Tissue+Tubig+Sabon = Certified Jebber-Friendly!

Another important factor is the chili/hot sauce. They serve Tabasco so puwede na rin.

French Onion Soup - tastes exactly like Bacci! Nawala na yung Bacci malapit sa office namin sa Makati at talagang magkalasa sila! Gusto na nga namin ipatanong kung galing ba dun yung chef nila eh haha! Best Onion Soup ever! Sorry kung OA, namiss lang namin siguro. Pero seriously, masarap talaga ito, may cheese na lumulutang sa ibabaw o! How can you go wrong with cheese sa isang soup? :D

Cafe Monster Burger - I'm no expert kung USDA Beef ba talaga ang ginamit nito but all I can say is that this burger is d-lish!!! Ka-level ng Chili's, Cable Car, mga ganun :) I'd order this again

Pepperoni Pizza - Nagustuhan namin ang pizza nila! Tama lang ang nipis at lutong, although, maybe next time, we'd go for the uncommon flavors.

USDA Beef Salpicao with Steak Rice - since it's my mom's birthday, she can have whatever she likes. Pinili niya eh Salpicao at hindi siya nagkamali! Again, they claim to use USDA beef in this dish, not sure kung totoo pero the meat's tender and full of flavor. May anggo na tamang-tama lang :) Must-try!

Spaghetti Seafood Aglio Olio - the best pasta dish of the night :) wala siyang kalasa at masarap talaga siya. Sabi nga ni Blanca, pwedeng pagbalik namin, ito uli ang orderin haha!

Spaghetti Amatriciana With Seafood - this one's actually really good. Pero natabunan ng Aglio Olio eh. I'd recommend this if you prefer tomato-based sauces.

Five Cheese Pizza - heto no joke, si Blanca ang nag-declare na Best. Pizza. Evaaarrr! Well, I don't completely agree with that kasi mas marami pa akong gustong pizza compared dito. But, so you'd understand. Adik si Blanca sa Quezo de Bola. Yung bang tipong lasang panis na keso gaya ng sa quezo de bola na Pato o Marca Pina. Ganun ang gustong-gusto niya at lasang-lasa nga naman yun sa pizza na ito. Gusto ko siya pero hindi sobrang na-inlove sa pizza like Blanca haha! Highly-recommended for cheese-lovers!

After our heavy meal, may konting space pa naman sa tiyan and we'd always make room for dessert! Lalo na't birthday ni Mama, kelangan may cake :D We went back down to choose among the dessert selections of the day

Chocolata - siyempre kelangan meron nito, dito sila sikat at minsan nang nahirang ito bilang Top 10 desserts sa Manila :) Chocolate addict ka ba? This dessert is for you! Loob at labas, chewy-gooey goodness!

Mangotier - also really good. Matamis yung mangga at mas masarap pa sa cream ng Red Ribbon yung loob :)

Mi Camille - ito actually ang pinaka-gusto ko sa lahat :) Almond Praline w/ Hazelnut. Heaven! Kahit maliit at nakakabitin, gusto ko pa din ito :) Winner!

I'm really happy that my mother enjoyed her birthday salubong. Sayang lang magkahiwalay kami umuwi kasi sa condo sila tutulog dahil doon sila magpapaayos ng buhok para sa big day ni ahya James kinabukasan. Naglakad-lakad muna kami ni Blanca bago umuwi at nagtagtag para bumaba ang kinain.

Dumaan kami sa Bar Dolci na malapit lang naman sa Sweet Bella para bumili ng French Macaroons para kay Bea. Gusto ko pa nga sana ng Salted Caramel kaso bigla akong naawa sa katawan ko haha!

Kinabukasan, it's a double celebration sa pamilya namin :) Birthday ni Mama at kasal ni Ahya James!

Sa Century Park Hotel ang reception. 11 years ago pa ako nung huling kumain dito at natandaan kong nag-enjoy ako sa kinain ko.

Prawn Salad - Marami at malalaki yung prawns, napadami nga lang din yung mayo pero pwede namang tanggalin :)

Shark's Fin Soup - masarap din ito and by this time, medyo nabubusog na ako kaya nagpe-pace na ako nito haha!

Abalone Mushroom - dapat konti lang kakainin ko nito, pero dahil masarap at paborito ko to, napadami din :s hahaha! EQ fail ako

Lapu-lapu - nakasalalay lang naman lagi ang kasarapan ng dish na ito ay kung sariwa eh. At sariwa ito kaya masarap siya, Konti nga lang nakain ko kasi gusto ko pang matikman yung iba pang parating.

Kalapati - hmm actually okay yung nakuha ko, pero yung sa iba, masyado daw maganit yung laman. Sinwerte lang siguro ako hehehe

Crab Cakes - mejo may bias ako kasi may carrots na lasang-lasa eh... boooo, pero pag tinangal naman, masarap din naman kahit paano hehehe

Noodles! - siyempre hindi mawawala sa celebration ito. Masarap din siya pero not the best that I've tasted.

Crabs - heto ang paborito ko. Sila mga ayaw magkamay, edi wag, more for me then. Wooot!

Usually, sa mga kasalan na ganito, Buchi na may sesame seeds na parang sa mga chowking ang sine-serve.

Dito sa Century, Ube mochi na may  peanut butter.... Two levels of win!!! Tig dalawa kami ni Blanca ata ng nakain haha! Sana may nabibili nito sa resto nila para makain namin kahit walang kasalan :D Sa mga magpapakasal, sa Century niyo na lang ganapin, isama niyo ito sa menu, at imbitahin niyo kami :) Hindi kayo magsisisi!

Mango Sango - normal lang :)
